This is the summary of what our groups have been involved with during September 2023.

We currently have 32 dogs in our care, 3 of whom are reserved at the present time.

Our next flight is on 8 October for 10 dogs, 3 of which have forever homes in place, and 7 will be going into UK foster.
One dog we rehomed 4 years ago became available again due to his family’s change of circumstances and we have now moved him into a foster home. We currently have 4 dogs in UK foster. Two other dogs who were in UK foster moved to their forever homes in September.

We paid our outstanding Cyprus vet and kennel bills total 4592 euros, we also donated £400 to help 3 pointers in the care of other Cyprus based rescue organisations. We donated £200 to the street dog/cat neuter and release community North Cyprus which paid for 4 stray dogs to be neutered. We also donated £100 to Great Bulls of China to thank them for giving us 19 travel crates.

During September we also received the sad news that one of our adopters, Fiona Forbes had passed away. Fiona lived alone and had adopted three dogs from us over the years. A friend was looking after one of her dogs and the other two dogs placed into kennels. A foster home for the two dogs in kennels was found and we arranged for a courier to collect and transport both dogs.

Huge thank you to all our group members who helped out in various ways. Fiona’s friend asked if she could adopt the dog she was looking after and following a home check, that has now been approved.

We received £114 from Nicola’s card sales, £306.50 from Pam Morris, Sandi Dawkins and Jill Larcombe from Pam’s Happy Stitches online market stall, £438 from Jan’s bonus ball fundraisers, £300 from a group member who wished to remain anonymous, £75 from Karen Greenhaff fundraising events, £30 from Ashcroft Animal Accessories, £30 from Karan Phelps dog bed sales, and £45 in general donations.

The monthly winner of our Pay it forward event who wins a pet portrait commission is Clare Sebo.
Our 2024 calendar and Christmas cards are now available and all the orders we have received to date will be posted during October. All the items are for sale in our online shop. www.rehomingcypruspointers.co.uk/shop

The Apollo Christmas Auction will begin in a few weeks time and if anyone has any items they would like to donate, please contact Tracy Payne.
Across our three Facebook groups (Rehoming Cyprus Pointers, Apollo’s Angels and Apollo’s Angels Events) 201 new members joined and there were a total of 25,342 posts, comments and reactions during September.

The next summary will be posted 1st November.
