The biggest thank you ever for saving a Weimaraner, whom we named Harley, from a Pound in Cyprus. We weren’t really looking to adopt when, by chance, we saw Harley’s photos on your website and his plight touched us. We are immensely glad we took the plunge and contacted you. He is just simply a wonderful dog and has exceeded all our expectations. He has settled in easily and is very friendly with our family, friends, children and all other dogs.
I first came across the group, ‘Rehoming Cyprus Pointers’ through friends who had adopted their dog from them and was instantly struck by how tirelessly the team work in aid of helping these neglected and abandoned dogs. Each dog within their care is even allocated their own Facebook page, whereby photos and videos are regularly uploaded, enabling you to get a real ‘feel’ for each individual dog. From the moment that I expressed an interest in ‘Tinker’, they couldn’t have been more helpful if they tried and the whole process from start to finish was handled quickly and efficiently. I would definitely adopt from them again and recommend them to anyone looking to offer a dog a new home.
Ken and myself started fostering as a way of making a difference. Now 18 months down the line we have fostered 7 German Pointers. Millie is now about 6 years old, although we think she’s never grown up as she behaves just like a puppy. Millie has brought so much joy to our family and really I would never buy a puppy again, we’d adopt every time. It’s a chance to make a difference to the dog’s life and your own!
I saw my beautiful Jake and I knew I had to have him – how strange how things work out because I wouldn’t of had him or known about the Cyprus rescue if I had not seen that little puppy with pleading eyes. I can’t imagine life without Jake he is a great mate.
Working with Apollo’s Angels is like being part of a wonderful extended family and we are very pleased to be part of it. When the time is right we will adopt again with them but for now our home continues to be open to foster.
Sunday 28th August 2016, the day we adopted our Cyprus rescue Jasmine. 10 days later we opened our doors and hearts to the world of fostering when Elsa briefly came to stay with us. 14 months on & we have helped with fostering 9 dogs although one ended up going straight to a forever home with friends (as well as gaining another one ourselves). Each foster dog is unique but with one common trait, they all crave love & deserve a chance of a new start with a family and a home of their own.
Our beautiful girl has been an absolute joy and brought so much love into our home. The reward and satisfaction of seeing a nervous young girl, turn into a happy, playful and loving part of the family is just priceless, and the support you get from RCP is invaluable.
