This is the summary of what our groups have been involved with during May 2024.
We currently have 28 dogs in our care, 5 of whom are reserved at the present time.
We had one flight on 19 May for 6 dogs 3 of which had homes in place and 3 went into foster. We currently have 6 dogs in UK foster at the moment and they are all still looking for forever homes. One other dog in UK foster went to his new home in May.
Our next flight is on 30 June and we are currently arranging which dogs will be travelling on it.
We donated £200 to help 2 pointers in the care of other Cyprus based rescue organisations, and £200 to the street dog/cat neuter and release community North Cyprus which paid for 4 stray dogs to be neutered. We paid our outstanding Cyprus vet fees total amount of which was 1664 euros. We also donated £150 to Saving Pound Dogs Cyprus.
We received £982 from Nicola’s fundraising events, £431 from Jan’s Bonus Ball fundraisers, £100 from Jill Larcombe holiday cottage guests, £400 from Jackson book royalties, £5 from Ashcroft Animal Accessories, £423.05 from Easyfundraising, £550 from the photo competition category judges, £2000 from the estate of the late Fiona Forbes, and £40 in general donations.
The monthly winner of our Pay it forward event who wins a pet portrait commission will be announced shortly.
Our annual photo competition has now begun and the winning entries will feature in our 2025 calendar.
Across our three Facebook groups (Rehoming Cyprus Pointers, Apollo’s Angels and Apollo’s Angels Events) 176 new members joined and there were a total of 24,284 posts, comments and reactions during May.
The next summary will be posted 1st July.
