This is the summary of what our groups have been involved with during October 2024.
We currently have 35 dogs in our care, 3 of whom are reserved at the present time.
We had one flight on 26 October for 8 dogs, 2 of which had homes in place and 6 went into UK foster. One of those dogs has now found his forever home. At the present time we have 6 dogs in UK foster 5 of whom are still available.
We have another flight on 1st December and we are currently arranging which dogs will be travelling on it.
We donated 513 euros to help 3 dogs in the care of other Cyprus based rescue organisations, and we also donated £200 to the North Cyprus street dog neutering programme. In addition we paid a Cyprus vet bill which was 132 euros. We also donated £300 towards dog food costs for Paws 4 homes foundation and £250 to Irene Scott which was spent on kennels for the Gonyeli shelter.
We received £588 from Nicola’s fundraising events, £421 from Jan’s Bonus Ball fundraisers, £6020 from the Apollo autumn raffle, £15 from Ashcroft Animal Accessories, £145 from Lottie Long Legs, £150 from Jackson’s book royalties, £49.18 from Paypal Giving Fund and £40 in general donations.
The monthly winner of our Pay it forward event who wins a pet portrait commission will be announced shortly.
We submitted our annual accounts to the charity commission in October and would like to express our gratitude to Hannah Collison for the huge amount of work she did for us compiling the accounts and also for kindly donating her accountancy fee back to Apollo’s Angels.
The Apollo’s Angels xmas auction has now begun and we also have our 2025 calendar and Christmas cards available. Thank you for all the orders received so far, we are now in the process of posting them out.
The calendars, Christmas cards, bobble hats, fleece dog jumpers and coats are all available in our online shop
Across our three Facebook groups (Rehoming Cyprus Pointers, Apollo’s Angels and Apollo’s Angels Events) 294 new members joined and there were a total of 25,331 posts, comments and reactions during October.
The next summary will be posted 1st December.
