We currently have 34 dogs in our care, 25 of whom are reserved. Due to Covid-19, we have been unable to fly any dogs to the UK since March, however flights are now becoming available again and we also had one dog arrive to her forever home during May. We have two flights booked to arrive the first week in June for a total of 15 dogs, all of whom have forever homes in place.

Whilst flights were unavailable and it was unknown when they were going to resume, we were still dealing with applications and enquiries and making sure we had funds in place to cover the ongoing costs of the dogs in our care. May was the busiest month we have had in the six and a half years since the group was formed in terms of forms sent out to applicants and new members joining our groups.

We received a total of £6,760 from the Apollo mega raffle and would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated prizes and bought tickets.

We paid our outstanding kennel bill of £5,898 and also donated £300 to help three pointers in the care of other Cyprus based rescue organisations. We also donated two 15kg bags of Apollo dog food value £75.98 to the Friends of Gonyeli Shelter for their online fundraising auction.

The Apollo accessories auction will begin at the start of June and we will also commence our annual photo competition shortly. The winning entries of this competition will feature in our 2021 calendar. The calendar and a new selection of Christmas cards will go on sale later in the year.

We welcomed 496 new members to our three groups (Rehoming Cyprus Pointers, Apollo’s Angels and Apollo’s Angels Events) and we had a total of 31,914 posts, comments and reactions during May.

The next summary will be posted on the 1st July.
